This may be a new trail for many and it incorporates a special area named for two founding Probus members.

Hike details: SIDEROAD 16C TO SIDEROAD 13A - WEST BEAVER VALLEY ESCARPMENT. This is a linear hike and after shuttling from the parking area we will start at the Wodehouse Management Area parking lot, follow the Sligo Side trail and continue through the Herman McConnell Memorial forest.

 This hike is along the Escarpment that runs north to south on the west side of the Beaver Valley.  Some views of the valley, primarily through deciduous forest. This is a mainly treed trail with lots of roots and many little ups and downs, plus a few open areas and one rocky, road allowance descent. The dedicated boardwalk commemorates Jim & Ann Lis Couse.

Distance & Difficulty:  About 5.5 km (1.5+ hrs) with some gentle slopes and very uneven ground.  Medium difficulty with a medium pace.

Walking poles, hiking boots & water  recommended.
