Wye Marsh excursion, August 22, 2024.

Everyone was provided with life jackets and paddles.

The crew was very helpful in getting us in the canoes.

We had 3 canoes and were following each other through the marsh. Some areas were a bit difficult to get through, but we had fun !!!

Little Eastern Phoebe that wasn't shy

Our bird handler introduced us to the Merlin, a small falcon the size of a jay.

We met the Red-eared Slider turtle (non-native). This little girl was very active.

Our bird handler brought the Great Horned Owl. What a beauty !!!

We learned how to identify the Snapping Turtle. Our little friend here is a bit overweight !!!
