DESCRIPTION & DIFFICULTY : This is a loop hike which starts at the parking lot on the 9th Sideroad just a few metres from the hamlet of Duncan.  It is Moderate to Difficult and not recommended for persons with any mobility or breathing issues.

We will be using the main Bruce Trail as well as part of Kolapore Wilderness trails on the Northwest Passage. There are a number of climbs up and down with a few muddy spots. Please be aware that there is a steep climb, using hand holds, up at Pinacle Rock.  After climbing the Rock there are great views across the valley to Metcalfe Rock.

Th loop is approximately 6 kms and will take between 2-21/2 hours.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING :   From Thornbury: Take Beaver Valley Rd #13 through Heathcote and turn left at the Duncan sign onto the Blue Mountains/Euphrasia Town Line, drive  to Duncan. Turn left onto the 9th Sideroad to the parking area on your right, several 100 metres from the intersection.

From Collingwood & Craigleith: Follow Mountain Rd towards Blue and take the Scenic Caves Road at the roundabout. Follow #119 past Banks and Ravenna and turn left onto the Townline, after Road 10. Drive as above.

Carpooling is recommended as there are limited parking spots. Please check the list of registrants to arrange. 

Please remember water and bug spray. Hiking poles are problematic for climbing the Rock, using only one may work.
