Hike Leader: Dennis Knight

This will be a loop hike going in on the main Bruce Trail and then looping back on the Escarpment Side Trail, ( BTC Map # 30 ). The hike distance is approximately 4.2 kms and although a relatively short hike, it is packed with many interesting things to see. Most of the hiking trail is hard packed earth but there are a couple of rocky sections where the footing can be tricky. The trail does include a couple of up and down sections but nothing too strenuous. This hike would be rated moderate with some rocky sections and the pace shall be medium with stops to enjoy the sights.

The Woodford area is renowned for its local history of early settlement and its own “culture“. This will be reflected in some of the features we shall see on this hike including an old homestead, a lime kiln and geological features like a “dry” riverbed, and limestone fossils. Lots to see while enjoying a walk in the woods.
