Summer Picnic 2017

Our annual picnic and bocce tournament will be held on Tuesday July 11 at Rice’s Pond, located on 10th line, fire no. 416266. 

Dinner will begin at 5:30pm and will be catered by Ted DeCorso.  Beverages are not included, so please bring your own. Be sure to bring a lawn chair as well. There are some picnic tables available but you may want to bring your own table.

The cost is $23.00 per person for members, guests are welcome at $28.00. Sign up sheets will be at the back of the room at our June meeting. Please, no pets allowed. CHEQUES ONLY PLEASE.

Picnic Report:

A cloudy day welcomed 16 Bocce teams for a 3pm start. Court conditions were good and competition was keen. There was a brief rain shower at the end of the 3rd game. The only people to get wet were the top teams during their presentation! The champions were:

• 1st place: Terry White, Meryl White, Jerry Primak, John Hopper
• 2nd place: Wayne Hawkins, Pam Hawkins, Maggie Perkins, Bill Perkins
• 3rd place: Terry Running, Joan Hutton, Wanda Winter, Larry Bowhey

The role of the referee is a most important element in the continued success of the games. They make the day with court setup, cleanup and court management.
