Summer Picnic 2019

Our annual picnic and bocce tournament will be held on Tuesday July 9 at Rice’s Pond, located on 10th line, fire no. 416266. Activities are:

• Bocce Tournament (Bocce participants assemble at 2:30 pm)
• Golf Chipping
• Bean Bag Toss

Dinner will begin at 5:30pm and will be catered by Roadrunner Foods.  Beverages are not included, so please bring your own. Be sure to bring a lawn chair as well. There are some picnic tables available but you may want to bring your own table.

The cost is $29.00 per person for members, guests are welcome at $39.00. Sign up sheets will be at the back of the room at our May meeting. Please, no pets allowed. CHEQUES ONLY PLEASE.

Picnic Report:

A beautiful July day welcomed the Bocce teams for a 3pm start. Court conditions were good and competition was keen. The champions were:

• 1st place: Lou Fowler, Ward Fowler, Sharyl Peterson, George Peterson
• 2nd place: Tom Paech, Bev Johnston, Peter Edwards, Elske Edwards
• 3rd place: Pam Hawkins, Wayne Hawkins, Maggie Perkins, Bill Perkins

The role of the referee is a most important element in the continued success of the games. They make the day with court setup, cleanup and court management.
