Birding Activity Group Protocol
What to Expect
- Visits to sites where birds are known to visit regularly
- Some walking over uneven ground to explore for birds.
- See our new schedule to take advantage of the increased activity during migration.
- Outings normally will be 8:30 – 10:30 AM
- When numbers of birders exceed available spaces, we may allow people on the waitlist to have first chance at the next outing.
- Minimal unnecessary chatter when looking for or at birds; some birders rely on bird song more than visual sightings to identify a bird.
- Other birders sharing their binoculars or equipment.
- Effort to remain together as much as possible. This will help improve consistencies in bird observations by all as well as knowledge sharing.
What to Bring on Outings
- Binoculars, birding guides, camera and scope (optional).
- Water, bug spray, sun block.
- Good footwear for hiking trails, poles if required.
