Beaver Valley Probus Club

PROBUS Ski Legends was started in the Fall of 1997 by a number of ski enthusiasts from the Blue Mountain PROBUS Club. The original premise was that no one should have to ski alone. Over time Ski Legends has expanded to PROBUS clubs in Collingwood, Thornbury, Wasaga Beach, Midland, Owen Sound and beyond. Strong relationships have been formed with Skiis and Biikes, Merit Travel and Blue Mountain Resort, who offer promotions and group discounts to members of Ski Legends.

Ski trips are planned each year to destinations such as Colorado, Utah, British Columbia, Quebec, and in recent years, to European destinations.

A number of social events, to bring members together, are planned each year. They include a "Wine and Cheese" held at Skiis and Biikes and a "Welcome Back Breakfast" in early January. Also, ski days at local private clubs are organized each season- typically this happens on a Thursday. Remember, the Ski Legends meet at the Silver Bullet Chair on Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:20 am and ski until about 11:30 am at Blue Mountain. A Ski Legends member, at the designated time and location, organizes and lead Ski Legends members to enjoy and discover the mountain—“No One Should Ski Alone” is our motto!

The Ski Legends organizing committee is very active during the year (except during the Summer) and works hard to provide enjoyable activities for members. Members are kept informed of activities through frequent emails. Ski Legends also has a dedicated web site: probusskilegends.ca. You are encouraged to visit the site on a regular basis as it provides the most up-to-date information on all the events, ski days and ski trips, as well as the membership application form. There is a nominal annual membership fee. Registration for the upcoming season is open beginning May and remains open for the season.”
