Smart Phone Camera Basics (May 21, 2026)

You are invited to attend a free Smart Phone Camera Basics Workshop at the LE Shore Library!

There will be a slide presentation to demonstrate Apple and Samsung basic smart phone camera features and settings, such as, but not limited to: opening the camera, care and cleaning, the lenses, features such as flash, night mode, timer, exposure, aspect, filters and zoom, and settings such as photo, portrait, panorama, video, cinematic, and selfies.

If time permits, we will also look at photo editing techniques such as cropping, adjusting exposure, saturation, and horizon line.

Please note: This workshop is to familiarize you with the camera's functioning. It is not a photography workshop.

Nottawasaga Model Railway

We have arranged a second tour of the Nottawasaga Model Railway, as the first event was oversubcribed.

This is an HO scale model train club operating from the Bygone Days Heritage Museum in Collingwood. The Club has a 20 x 40 foot layout dedicated to the operation of trains that ran from Allendale to Collingwood in the 1950s.

The tour takes roughly 1 to 1 1/2 hours

There is a maximum of 15 people on this tour. However if there is sufficient interest, we will try to book more tours, so please add your name to the waitlist if the event is full.

Please note that they cannot accommodate wheelchairs (the model is too far off the ground to be viewed from a wheelchair).

There is parking onsite.
