Events & Activities :: Club Activities :: Ski Legends
The Probus Ski Legends was started in the fall of 1997 by a number of ski enthusiasts from the Blue Mountain Probus Club. The original premise was that no one should have to ski alone. During the winter of 97/98 Blue Mountain Resort provided the group with meeting space in the South Base Lodge. The Ski Legends has expanded over time to all Probus Clubs in the Wasaga/Collingwood/Thornbury area. Partnerships have been formed with Skiis and Biikes in Collingwood, the Toronto Ski Club, and Merit Travel, and discounts are offered to members by these organizations. Ski trips are taken each winter to places such as Colorado, Utah and British Columbia and a number of social events are offered to bring members together. This season those events included, Wine and Cheese, an early season breakfast, Dinner Dance, Lunch and Après Ski, and ski days at local private ski clubs.
A newsletter is published before the start of each ski season, and members are kept informed through numerous emails.
All Legends activities including ski trips are open to guests but at a slightly higher cost.
The club is very active during the winter months and does a good job of providing some enjoyable activities for the membership.
