Recreational Cycling

This is easy cycling as compared to the Back Roads Cycling and is intended for those who want some exercise but do not want many hills and long cycles. Weather permitting, we hope to ride early May to late October.

We will be cycling about one and a half hours every Monday, (except holidays), weather permitting, on the trails and quiet roads in and around Meaford, Thornbury, Blue Mountains, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach followed by refreshments at a nearby cafe/restaurant for those who wish.  In the past we have also cycled further afield (Midland, Stayner, Owen Sound) but on another weekday. But in our busy “retired” lives we have many commitments for the rest of the week and many feel that these rides should be held on Mondays, a day that has been set aside for cycling. So this season any rides that we do as a group will be done on Mondays, but shorter routes, or alternative routes closer to home and led by volunteers will also be provided. In past years a group of us cycled around the Welland Canal area for two days and another multi-day trip around Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Information about the individual rides will be sent weekly by email to all members.

New cyclists are welcome anytime.
